Is it time to take your writing to the next level?
The industry experts behind the #WriteHereWriteNow writing group are running a pop-up short course — #WHWN magazine masterclass.
It takes the creative community concept but adds a targeted twist: a group magazine project with an opportunity to have your work published and distributed around Chester in a tangible format.
That means bylines for your portfolio and real, hands-on experience of magazinecraft with proper editorial meetings, flatplans and deadlines.
Plus tutor-led guidance from professional journalist David Atkinson and editor Gemma Glover, expert editing of your writing and the support of a like-minded creative team.
Gemma is the editor of Chester’s independent magazine, amble.
We start on Tuesday, May 8 and then meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm in the Meeting Room upstairs at Storyhouse.
- Update: We are offering the last few places on a taster basis — sign up now for just £5 and you can pay £30 for the rest of the course after you’ve done the first session.
- Magazine masterclass runs for eight weeks (last session June 26).
And look out for a fiction masterclass follow-up this autumn.
